Our essential intent is Family Wellness.
The most potent influence in the socialisation of individuals are the families from which they emerge. Acculturation and perspective are first developed by family before society. By implication, if society is said to be sick, in tracing the root cause, focus must be directed at the health of the family. Patch is a flagship programme of the Baton Initiative Africa at which the parenting community is engaged and re-educated on parenting and practical ways to ensure that their wards are properly socialised. Collaborating with resource persons across different fields from sociology, psychology, mental wellness and social entrepreneurs across Africa and the world, Patch seeks to advocate for remodelling of the African family which is a safe space for all the stakeholders, parents and children.
Our eponymous events are held periodically and at these fora, healthy, intimate and action-oriented conversations are held on parenting and the related challenges of building the modern African family .
