The Baton Initiative
We are a social enterprise out of Africa that is set up with the essential intent of equipping Africa’s next generation with the right values, skill set, mental and cultural readiness to build and sustain the emerging Africa. Leveraging on history, knowledge, culture as well as global and indigenous talent, The Baton Initiative seeks to become an incubator for and a notable champion for the development of behavioral, educational, leadership and entrepreneurial quotient of Africa’s young urns.

To address systemic challenges to the development of young Africans. By learning innovation, core behavioural skills, leadership and entrepreneurship acumen, our beneficiaries are skilled up and ready to harness and deliver on Africa’s potential.

OYEYEMI ADERIBIGBE
Oyeyemi is a director of TBI and the visioner of Patch one of its flagship programmes directed at nurturing family wellness for African families. As a lawyer, she has been involved in several advocacy initiatives and youth empowerment programmes geared at educating as well as formulating policies on education.
With a very pragmatic understanding of the challenges encountered by young persons she actively mentors over 350 teenagers on life, social and leadership skills and is a member of the core team that has consistently curated Navigate, one of the leading teenagers’ conferences in Africa, with a record of about 500-1000 teenagers in attendance year on year.
When she is not lawyering or involved in advocacy, she integrates multiple expressions of talent including singing, writing prose, poetry and songs and a knack for meeting people into her time.
Her most sincere passion is to see African families healthy and nurturing wholesome and educated individuals who are grounded in African culture, proud of heritage and impassioned with a desire for building sustainable families, African communities, and institutions.
Project Coordinator
GUILLAUME KPAKO
Guillaume is the Project Coordinator of The African Nile, TBI’s hub for curating, showcasing and transferring knowledge and appreciation of African content.
A seasoned linguist with work experience across Angola, Equitorial Guinea, Ghana, Togo and Spain, he has worked as interpreter and language expert with several organisations including the GIZ and the USAID.
Guillaume has proficiency in several languages including French, Spanish and English.
His most sincere passion is to be part of building a generation of young Africans who are aware of the enormous potential of Africa, work towards integration and optimisation of this.
In his words, I have seen the enormous wealth of Africa’s culture, civilizations, quantitative and qualitative human resources, huge mineral resources Africa possesses and I know if its youth can catch the burden and value proposition for an integrated Africa, she will soar.”
As you can tell, Guillaume would travel the world of Africa for fun.
Program Manager
Nnenna Udoye
Nnenna Udoye is the Program Manager of the Baton Initiative. With over 4 years experience in project management, Nnenna is an astute and well versed management professional and has deployed this skill severally working with local and international organisations. She is responsible for the day to day piecing together of the fabric of the several expressions of The Baton Initiative and the communities that we serve.
